America's Family Promise

America has taken big steps to put families at the center again. Now let’s ensure the safety gear we need for our babies is accessible too.
Child Tax Credit increased to $2,200 and a new Baby Bonus gives $1,000 to babies born between 2025 and 2028
$7,500 pretax childcare allowance, and employer-provided childcare credit
Expansions to family-related tax breaks and credits for dependents and adoptions

Advocate for the
Baby safety Gear Exemption

It’s a simple extension of the family-first choices already being made at the highest levels. By shielding essential baby safety gear from tariffs, we can protect children and strengthen families.

Take Action Now

When Safety Costs Rise, Families Pay the Price

Tariffs have increased the prices of baby safety gear by up to 30%, and prices could go up even more.

These aren’t luxuries. In fact, some baby safety items are legally required in all 50 states because they protect those that need it most.

Establishing manufacturing operations in the U.S.A. that meet the current highly controlled, regulated quality and safety standards – complete with robust testing infrastructure and an affordable labor force – would take many years to achieve. Attempting to do so would cause the prices of these essential products to increase significantly to levels that are unaffordable for most American families.

Families shouldn’t have to choose between paying bills and protecting their children.
3.6 million babies
were born in the United States in 2024.
More than 50% of births in 2024
were to mothers under age 30.
The average American family now
spends over $18,000
in the first year of a baby’s life.
Currently
90% of baby safety gear
is made in China.
Over 40% of births in the U.S.A.
are paid for by Medicaid.
97% of stroller prices
are impacted by new tariffs.
85% of car seat prices
are impacted by new tariffs.
Younger families are most stretched
by rising costs of goods and products.
